Revelry in Paradise 楽園の宴
A performance piece created by Akiko Ban in collaboration with Imari Suganuma
January 2014, Matsudo Chiba Japan
Sculpture and installation: Akiko Ban
Direction and Choreography: Imari Suganuma
Performers: The Bambiest Bito Nakagawara / Naoko Ishiwada / Yuka Esumi
Costume: Akiko Ban / Midori Nohara
Organization: Matsukai – Matsudo Community Planning Council
Revelry in Paradise 楽園の宴 is an experimental and challenging performance piece of Akiko Ban’s ongoing research project, ‘wearable sculpture’ which questions a relationship between object and body. The peculiar mood and conviviality are generated by interactions between my works, dancers, audiences and space.
